The final week of the regular season offers TSN CFL Fantasy football users an opportunity to use Alouettes, Argonauts and Eskimos one last time before next June. While the question of “will they, or won’t they?” hovers over a handful of high-end Fantasy producers who might either sit out the regular season finale or see limited playing time to rest up for next weekend’s Semi-Final matchups, each of the three teams heading home for the winter have viable Fantasy options to ease concerns.
With a huge off-season ahead of him, it stands to reason Eskimos quarterback Mike Reilly ($12,812) will let it fly one last time in 2018 as he faces the Blue Bombers on Saturday afternoon. However, Winnipeg’s defence is part of the reason why Edmonton will miss the postseason, as Reilly has managed only one touchdown pass against them in two previous games. Still, he gets the number two spot at the position due to the prospect of Winnipeg giving some of its starters the day off.
Ottawa’s Trevor Harris ($9,492) ranks above Reilly, and while Harris also faces the possibility of not playing the entire game, he does face the league’s eighth-ranked pass defence in the Argos, who have allowed 289.9 yards per game. Harris did throw for 381 yards and two touchdowns in the previous meeting between the teams in Week 8.

Matt Nichols went slinging into the fog at Investors Group Field last week against the Stampeders, passing for 358 yards as the Bombers went on to clinch the final remaining playoff spot. (The Canadian Press)
A resurgent Matt Nichols ($6,665) will have the attention of Fantasy users as the Bombers look to go into the playoffs with momentum at the expense of the Eskimos, while Toronto’s James Franklin ($9,324) and his running ability will present Fantasy users an opportunity at bonus production from the ground game in the Argos’ go-home tilt against the REDBLACKS.
Winnipeg’s Andrew Harris ($7,921) gets top billing among running backs as he enters the final week of the regular season seven yards behind Ottawa’s William Powell ($8,722) in the race for the league’s rushing crown. Like Harris, Powell will also face a scenario of either sitting or starting as the REDBLACKS won’t play again until the East Final. Still, it’s likely that Powell will see some action against the Argonauts since he was scratched in favor of Mossis Madu ($5,412) in Week 20. Montreal’s William Stanback ($6,171), who scored twice last week in the win over Toronto, will see the bulk of the carries against Hamilton, while C.J. Gable ($6,549) will see considerable action against the Bombers as the Eskimos’ lead back is only 49 yards away from his first 1,000-yard season. Both will offer solid value.
BC’s Tyrell Sutton ($6,114) and Calgary’s Don Jackson ($6,693) square off in the Calgary’s last chance to lock down the West on Saturday night. Sutton rushed for 106 yards and a pair of scores in the Lions’ win over the Stamps in Week 18, making him one of the few backs to have seen success against the league’s top rush defence. Jackson has struggled since his return from injury but can regain the form that made him the league’s top runner in the first quarter of the season.
REDBLACKS receiver/return specialist Diontae Spencer ($10,527) is the top receiver in the Week 21 rankings but does come with some risk due to the prospect of him playing in limited action. Coming off a huge Week 20 effort against the Tiger-Cats, Spencer has scored four times in the last three weeks and gets an Argos defence that has allowed a league-high 37 completions of better than 30 yards. Teammates Greg Ellingson ($7,554) and Brad Sinopoli ($7,754) also rank high because of the upside in facing Toronto.
Eskimos receiver Bryant Mitchell ($8,320) is ranked behind Spencer, while Bombers standout Darvin Adams ($7,029) and surging young Stamps talent Markeith Ambles ($3,546) merit strong consideration.
Winnipeg’s defence ($6,167) ranks first, while Hamilton ($3,750) is second as they face a Montreal offence that is still last in scoring despite last week’s rare outburst. The Alouettes’ D has sleeper potential, having scored at least 13 Fantasy points in each of the last three games.
