RotoExperts: Week 20 Fantasy Rankings

Tag, Luke Tasker. You’re It. Such is life for the Tiger-Cats receiver ($9,179), who sits atop the Week 20 rankings at the position in the wake of the loss of teammate Brandon Banks ($12,471), whose season ended with a broken clavicle in Friday’s loss to the REDBLACKS.

Tasker didn’t simply inherit the honour. He’s been on a run that has seen him on the receiving end of six touchdowns in the last three weeks, giving him a career-high 11 and a share (at least for now) of the league-lead with Banks. He’s been one of the more consistent Fantasy producers this season having recorded double digits in his last eight games, including at least 22.1 FP five times in that span.

Expect Tasker to gain Most Favoured status from pivot Jeremiah Masoli ($11,659) in Saturday’s rematch at Ottawa. The loss of Banks also boosts the Fantasy value of Mike Jones ($4,087) and Terrell Sinkfield ($4,964), both of whom will see a sharp increase in targets.

The REDBLACKS trio of Diontae Spencer ($9,228), Brad Sinopoli ($7,831) and Greg Ellingson ($6,806) rank among the top six at receiver, with the Lions adding their duo of Bryan Burnham ($7,315) and DeVier Posey ($5,591) into the Top 10.

Masoli is the top-ranked quarterback, as he comes into Week 20 only 34 yards shy of 5,000 passing yards and two majors from hitting the 30-TD plateau. Both should happen on Saturday along with another 300-yard outing from Masoli, who has crossed the mark 12 times this season. A strong second half in last week’s loss to the Roughriders gives hope that Stampeders quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell ($9,088) can rebound from his recent funk, as he takes on a Blue Bombers defence that gave up 452 yards and three touchdowns the last time the teams met in Week 11.

The back end of the quarterback rankings offers hope. BC’s Travis Lulay ($6,792) comes off a four-touchdown performance in last week’s win over Edmonton, while Saskatchewan’s Zach Collaros ($5,563) looks to add a touchdown or two following his 352-yard outing at Calgary last week.

Ottawa’s William Powell ($8,722) remains the top-ranked running back. The league’s leading rusher with 1,363 yards, Powell rushed for 87 yards in last week’s win over Hamilton but does come with some caution, as he has not caught a pass in his last two games. Tiger-Cats standout Alex Green ($9,444) is a strong candidate to at least repeat the 106 yards from scrimmage he amassed in his return to the lineup last week. Winnipeg’s Andrew Harris ($7,786) continues to nip at the heels of Powell’s lead in rushing yardage but must contend with a Calgary defence that held him to a season-low 13 yards on seven carries back in Week 11.

Coming off the first 100-yard game of his career, Montreal’s William Stanback ($5,262) remains a bargain going into the rematch against Toronto on Sunday. A strong performance from Cameron Marshall ($5,355) puts the Roughriders back into Fantasy relevance, which will hurt the value of incumbent Tre Mason ($4,482).

Defensively, the Blue Bombers ($6,281) lead the way as they have recorded games of 29 and 28 Fantasy points in the past three games. The Stampeders ($4,954) dip to third behind the Roughriders ($4,720) and their potential to give their Fantasy users the bonus of a defensive touchdown.
