RotoExperts: CFL Week 11 Fantasy Rankings

Geoff Robins/CFL.ca

Week 11 is a week for TSN CFL Fantasy football users to ponder the rate of return Bombers running back Andrew Harris and Eskimos pivot Mike Reilly may provide as the game’s two most expensive players facing stiff challenges.

Harris ($10,288) and Winnipeg travel to Calgary on Saturday afternoon to face the league’s top run defence. The league’s leading rusher with 792 yards, Harris also tops the league with nine touchdowns. He was held in check by the Stampeders in 2017, rushing for a total of 100 yards on 18 carries in two games while failing to score a major.

Reilly and his $14,000 price tag open Week 11 when he and Edmonton square off at Hamilton on Thursday night. Reilly has thrown 10 touchdowns in his last four games while also rushing for a major in each game. He was slowed down by the Tiger-Cats defence in a Week 2 loss that saw him throw a pair of touchdowns while being limited to 286 yards – one of only three times that Reilly has been held under 300 yards this season.

Argonauts quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson ($6,000) will be a potential bargain as he and a resurgent Toronto squad visit an Alouettes team that has given up consecutive 400-yard games to Trevor Harris and Mike Reilly, who threw for 415 in Saturday’s win. Montreal has allowed the most passing yards per game and no team has given up more completions of better than 30 yards than the Alouettes.

The potential of producing against the Alouettes is a reason why Argos running back James Wilder Jr. ($9,125) tops the rankings at the position, gaining a slight edge over Edmonton’s C.J. Gable ($7,237), who is scheduled to return to the lineup against his old Ticats mates after missing last week with an injury. With Hamilton struggling against the run this season, Week 10 breakout performer Shaquille Cooper ($4,000) will be among the most-used players if Gable is unable to suit up.

Calgary’s Romar Morris ($3,500) may get a third straight start if Don Jackson ($6,140) isn’t ready to return to the Stampeders backfield. There could also be change in the backfields of Montreal and Saskatchewan as rookie William Stanback ($4,000) could make his first career start if Tyrell Sutton ($6,342) and his lower body injury can’t go at Toronto. Fellow first-year back Tre Mason ($4,064) has received the bulk of the touches over Marcus Thigpen ($5,286) in the Riders backfield and may get the start for Saskatchewan.

In what feels like a rare event, an Eskimos receiver does not top the rankings, as Hamilton’s Brandon Banks ($9,243) returns from the bye week to go against an Edmonton defence that he piled up six catches for 117 yards and a major against in Week 2. Calgary’s Kamar Jorden ($8,416) sits in the third spot between the Edmonton duo of D’haquille Williams ($8,016) and Derel Walker ($8,273).

Coming off strong performances in Week 10, Saskatchewan’s Jordan Williams-Lambert ($3,496), Edmonton’s Bryant Mitchell ($4,295) and Toronto’s Anthony Coombs ($3,030) each loom as potential sleepers.

Saskatchewan’s defence ($5,740) put up 25 Fantasy points in Sunday’s win over Calgary and will be the top D of choice against BC. The Argonauts ($3,633) get the draw against the Alouettes offence, making them a possible must-play unit.
