Weekly Predictor: Do Esks make ground on Stamps?

Which Week 13 game does Nye have the most confidence in predicting?

Last week, Nye went 3-1 in his predictions. This week, he is feeling confident in the division leaders.

Let’s start with an explanation of the confidence percentage. The feature in CFL Pick ‘Em is an extra bonus to show just how confident you are a team will win. For instance, if you think the Lions will win but think the Stampeders also have a good chance you may only want to put an extra 10 points, but if you think there is a slim chance the Stampeders can win, you likely want to slide that gauge into the 90s or all the way to 100.

BC vs. Calgary

A good week to a bad week, as the inconsistent BC Lions stumble into McMahon Stadium for a tilt with the CFL’s best in the West. To make matters worse for the Lions, it appears Jon Cornish is set to return to the lineup with fresh legs after spending most of the season thus far rehabbing a broken thumb. A rejuvenated run game to go with a solid pass game is going to be a headache for a defence in BC. trying to find their game.

PICK: Calgary with 90% confidence

Edmonton vs. Hamilton

When these two teams met a few weeks ago it was supposed to be a classic between two of the top defences in the league. The Tiger-Cats had a different idea as they took full control at the top of the power rankings and haven’t relinquished it since. Now the Eskimos have Mike Reilly back and they look like a team that is ready to make a run in the final third of the season. I was nudging towards going with Edmonton, however I just can’t ignore the Tiger-Cats play at home.

PICK: Hamilton with 25% confidence

Ottawa vs. Saskatchewan

The Riders played the REDBLACKS just three weeks ago but a lot has changed. A new Head Coach and General Manager and now Kevin Glenn returns to the huddle for Saskatchewan. Ottawa continues its climb up the standings and now have a home playoff game in its sights in its second season. Glenn’s ability however to have the Riders offence performing at a high rate can’t be ignored. And the Riders defence looks much improved. Call this a gut pick, but I’m not putting any extra confidence points on this one.

PICK: Saskatchewan

Winnipeg vs. Montreal

With Matt Nichols at quarterback the Blue Bombers started to find their game in the second half of last week’s game. The Montreal defence however is still going to create havoc and the Bombers coughed up the ball five times in the first half of last week’s game. Two offences with a lot of change, two defences who may have to out last each other. I’m taking Montreal.

PICK: Montreal with 30% confidence
