Will the REDBLACKS bounce back after a humbling Week 3 loss in their rematch with the Eskimos?
Last week, Nye had the REDBLACKS falling back down to earth and came through on that selection. This week, he is putting most of his support behind the Esks and Riders.
Hamilton at Montreal
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats come into this game rested after their bye week in Week 3. After losing a heart-breaker to Calgary, they blew away the Bombers in Week 2, the team their competitor has just lost to. Rakeem Cato’s second half was much better than his first half but I think Kent Austin comes in with a strong game plan that’s been two weeks in the making.
His teams are 2-1 coming off the bye week – their lone loss was last year without Zach Collaros and they nearly defeated Calgary, in Calgary. Be wary of that Montreal defence, however, they are a group destined for great things once again as a young quarterback tried to find his consistency.
PICK: Hamilton with 30% confidence
Edmonton at Ottawa
While, I’m picking Edmonton to win after they just blew out Ottawa last week, this is a game I’m thinking could go to the home team. The REDBLACKS need to find an answer for Kendial Lawrence out of the backfield as he gave the Eskimos a great second dimension to their offence they didn’t have in their Week 1 loss to Toronto.
Ottawa’s longest play from scrimmage last week was 16 yards as Edmonton did a great job of keeping every thing in front of them and making tackles. I think that sound defence gets the job done again.
PICK: Edmonton with 75% confidence
B.C. at Saskatchewan
The Riders have to win. Their coach is fired up. Jerome Messam is tweeting that the team will win their next four games. They’re still talking like a contender. Problem is, they have a confident Travis Lulay coming in and Andrew Harris just caught them for 144-yards from scrimmage.
I have a hard time seeing this Rider team losing their first four games of the season and first three home games of the year. They finally break the ice and get into the win column and maybe get a bounce here and there to help them along the way.
PICK: Saskatchewan with 50% confidence
Winnipeg at Calgary
The Blue Bombers defensive line must be licking their chops with the injuries to both offensive tackles of the Stampeders in Week 3. Though the Stamps impressed with their make shift offensive line, the Bombers will be throwing a lot at Bo Levi Mitchell and centre Pierre Lavertu is going to be tested on his line calls on Saturday.
The other side to the story is did Calgary get their groove back in their win over Toronto? The Stampeders were able to find the big play now and again and their defence shut the door at the end of the game when it was necessary.
My gut tells me to go with the philosophy that everything starts up front and on a short week with a makeshift offensive line, it’s going to limit what the Stampeders can do.
PICK: Bombers with 10% confidence
