Nye: A fantasy sleeper for every CFL team

CFL Fantasy Football season is among us and I love me some fantasy football!

Here are the players to look for in your draft over the weekend from each team, after the big names are gone.

B.C. Lions:

The obvious pick here is Emmanuel Arceneaux but in his third full season in B.C. I think you have to like Courtney Taylor OR Bryan Burnham, if they can’t fit on the roster together. Burnham could be a huge pick in later rounds if he beats out Taylor for a job.

Calgary Stampeders:

Eric Rogers, Eric Rogers, Eric Rogers. When you start two games and then lead your team in receiving in the Grey Cup, you know the young man has a bright future. Have him ranked high and don’t be fearful of reaching early. You’re not picking him before Jon Cornish or Bo Levi Mitchell though!

Edmonton Eskimos:

Watch closely on who could win the running back battle in Edmonton but Kendial Lawrence is going to do a lot more within the offence for the Eskimos with John White out of the picture.

Saskatchewan Roughriders:

I liked the burst Anthony Allen has brought into his second year and he looked like the best back over Jerome Messam in the pre-season. If Allen can get the majority of the reps, he’s a 1,000 yard running back and would look good on your roster.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers:

Darvin Adams is being pushed by Toney Clemons in camp and while Adams came over from the Argos to help out the receiving corps, I think enough attention will be spent on Nick Moore to give whoever is in Romby Bryant’s old spot good chances.

Toronto Argonauts:

You have to go with the obvious early but Trevor Harris isn’t a bad pick up as he didn’t look out of place in the reps we’ve seen from him if you can’t get one of the top quarterbacks.

Is Anthony Allen about to emerge as a premier CFL running back? Jamie Nye thinks the Riders’ tailback could be a sneaky good fantasy pickup.

Ottawa REDBLACKS:

Pick a receiver, any receiver and just run with it. Maurice Price has to be the favourite of Henry Burris early, you’d think, and he better be the first REDBLACKS receiver off the board.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats:

I’m just going to say this: I think picking a Tiger-Cat is always a good idea. If you’re debating late, look at the Tiger-Cats depth chart and see which steal you can get in that receiving corps.

Montreal Alouettes:

Fred Stamps. I think he’s got game left and will want to show the world the Eskimos made a mistake.

Best of luck!
