Cliff Notes: 8 things we learned from the Finals

TORONTO — There’s plenty to take from each week of exciting CFL action, and every Monday we deliver some of the things we learned from the week’s biggest plays. The Division Finals didn’t provide any major upsets, but there were some surprises, such as the Stamps’ dominance of their Alberta rival and the Ticats putting up 40 against a stingy Als team.

With the stage set for the 102nd Grey Cup Championship in Vancouver, we look at what the Division Finals taught us heading into next week.

1. Brandon Banks is as good as (or maybe even better than) advertised.

We said here after Week 19 that Brandon Banks is a thrill to watch, and that we need to see more of him. But in Sunday’s Eastern Final win over the Montreal Alouettes, he took his game-breaking ability a whole step further.
