Tiger-Cats offensive lineman Marwan Hage and his Hage’s Heroes community program will host its annual food share for the fifth time this Saturday, October 13.
Hages Heroes will team up with international relief organization Speroway to provide 1,000 local families in need with food boxes at Ivor Wynne Stadium. Over the course of the last five years, Hages Heroes has distributed over 5,000 food boxes to families in the Hamilton community.
“This is the fifth year for this event where Speroway has partnered with Marwan Hage to distribute food and hygiene boxes in the Hamilton area. Marwan supports our work and together with Speroway he is passionate about making an impact in the city of Hamilton to help children and their families,” said Ken Dick, President of Speroway.
Hage’s Heroes has been helping the Hamilton community since the program was created in 2007. Over the last six years, Hage’s Heroes has welcomed over 5,000 underprivileged youth to Tiger-Cats home games, fed over 6,000 families through food drives and made numerous donations to local charities. In 2009, Hage was honoured with the CFL’s Tom Pate Memorial Award in recognition of his efforts in the community.
