After throwing for an East Division leading 5,102 yards – the second highest-single season mark in Tiger-Cats history — one season ago, Kevin Glenn enters training camp as the unquestioned starter at football’s most important position.

Glenn posted career and Tiger-Cats franchise bests with 33 touchdown passes and 388 completions, while starting all 18 regular season games last season. He is currently the most accurate quarterback in Tiger-Cats history with a completion percentage of 63.5 per cent in his two seasons with the team.

The Illinois State alum sits 14th on the All-Time CFL career passing list with 28,522 yards. An 11-year CFL veteran, Glenn eclipsed the 300 yard mark in eight games last year and he enters his third season with the Ticats looking to lead the black and gold to the 99th Grey Cup.

Behind Glenn is backup pivot Quinton Porter, who is returning for a fourth season with the Tiger-Cats.  He saw limited game action in 2010 — except for being utilized as the short yardage quarterback for the majority of the season. Porter attempted just 21 passes last season, but provides the Ticats with a reliable second option at the pivot position.

Should Porter be called upon, he adds a different dynamic to the offence with of his speed.  In three seasons, the Boston College product has ran for 696 yards on 107 carries — a 6.5 yards per carry average.

After spending two straight seasons on the Ticats injured list, Jason Boltus showed enough promise to signal the release of Adam Tafralis during the off-season. Boltus boasts a strong right arm and has now had two years to pick up the nuances of the Canadian game after a record-setting Division III career at Hartwick College.

With increased reps in training camp, the cannon-armed Boltus will have a chance to prove he can be a solid, developing option at quarterback.

General Manager Bob O’Billovich could potentially add a fourth quarterback to compete in time for next week’s rookie camp.
