TIGER-CATS BOOST SECONDARY

Hamilton, Ontario – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that the team has signed five import defensive backs.  Francis Adjei, John Destin, Terrance Lee, Pierre Singfield and Marcell Young will join the Ticats for rookie camp at McMaster University.

“All five of these players bring size and aggressiveness to our defence.  We look forward to watching them compete in training camp,” said General Manager Bob O’Billovich.

Adjei, a 6-2, 170-pound native of Silver Springs, Maryland, joins the Ticats after four seasons at Delaware State.  He recorded 136 tackles and eight interceptions in 43 games with the Hornets.

Destin, a 6-0, 195-pound native of Belle Glade, Florida, spent last season on the practice rosters of the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars and Indianapolis Colts after attending training camp with the Buffalo Bills.  Prior to turning pro, Destin made 89 tackles and five interceptions in three seasons at Tulsa.

Lee, a 6-0, 175-pound native of New Britain, Connecticut, played two seasons at UNLV, registering 128 tackles, one interception, one quarterback sack and five forced fumbles over the course of his NCAA career.

Singfield, a 5-11, 196-pound native of Akron, Ohio, returns to Hamilton after a brief stint on the Ticats practice roster in October of 2010.  He also spent time with the NFL’s Houston Texans after finishing his collegiate career at Arizona State.

Young, a 6-2, 200-pound native of Jackson, Mississippi, signed with the NFL’s New Orleans Saints in 2009 after two years at Jackson State.  He recorded 48 tackles and two interceptions with the Tigers.
