Tiger-Cats Sign Three On 'D'

TIGER-CATS SIGN THREE ON ‘D’

Hamilton, Ontario – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that the team has signed import linebacker Brandon Denson as well as defensive backs Derek Douglas and Darren Toney.

Denson, a 5-11, 230-pound native of Willow Run, Michigan, played four seasons at Michigan State where he recorded 110 defensive tackles, three quarterback sacks and one interception. 

Douglas, a 6-0, 185-pound native of Columbus, Georgia, played three seasons at Tuskegee University, registering 26 tackles and three interceptions in his senior season.  He attended training camp with the Ticats last season before suffering a season-ending injury. 

Toney, a 5-11, 190-pound native of Lake Village, Arkansas, made 52 defensive tackles, three special teams tackles, seven pass knockdowns, two tackles for a loss and one forced fumble in 18 games with the B.C. Lions during the 2009 season. He was released by the Lions on June 24, 2010 after taking part in training camp. The Arkansas State product also attended training camp with the NFL’s Carolina Panthers in 2008.  

The Ticats also announced that the team has released non-import defensive end Yahia Dalloul and import running back A.J. Harris.
