TIGER-CATS EXTEND QB KEVIN GLENN

Hamilton, Ontario – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that quarterback Kevin Glenn has signed a contract extension with the team that will keep the team’s 2010 Most Outstanding Player in Hamilton through 2012.

Glenn, a 5-10, 203-pound native of Detroit, Michigan, put together one of the best single-season performances by a quarterback in Ticats history last season, completing 388 of 602 passes (64.5%) for 5,102 yards and a team-record 33 touchdowns.  His completion percentage and passing yards were the second highest single-season totals in team history.

Glenn was named the Ticats Most Outstanding Player  in 2010

The Illinois State product signed with the Ticats as a free agent on March 20, 2009.

“Kevin was very productive last season and has established himself as one of the league’s top quarterbacks.  We look forward to watching him lead our offence again this season,” said General Manager Bob O’Billovich.

Glenn’s CFL career began in 2001 with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.  After three seasons with the Riders, he was dealt to the Winning Blue Bombers prior to the 2004 season.  Glenn spent five years with the Bombers, helping them reach the Grey Cup final in 2007, before signing with the Ticats.  He was named the East Division’s Most Outstanding Player in 2007.

In 168 regular season games, Glenn has thrown for 20,483 yards and 160 touchdowns.

Last year, Glenn created his ‘Touchdown For Kids’ program presented by Tim Hortons, which raised $7,000 for the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation.  Glenn also brought 300 kids from Tim Hortons Children’s Foundation Camps to a Ticats home game in July.
