MANN CATCHES ON FOR TWO MORE YEARS
Hamilton, Ontario – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that import wide receiver Maurice Mann has signed a contract extension that will keep him in Black and Gold through the 2012 season.
Mann, a 6-2, 190-pound native of Seaside, California, has caught 169 passes for 2,251 yards and 15 touchdowns in 42 career regular season games. Last season, his first in Hamilton, Mann hauled in 56 catches for 787 yards and five touchdowns.
“Maurice is a very athletic receiver with good size who has outstanding play-making ability with the ball in his hands,” said General Manager Bob O’Billovich. “While Maurice had a good season last year, I think we only caught a glimpse of what he’s capable of. With a move inside to the slot this season, we’re looking forward to an even more productive season from him.”
The Ticats acquired Mann in a trade with the Edmonton Eskimos on February 16, 2010. In addition to his three seasons in Edmonton, the Nevada product has also spent time with the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings, Seattle Seahawks, and Washington Redskins.
