Ticats Making Impact In The Community

A handful of Hamilton Tiger-Cats players are making an impact in the community as they prepare to face the B.C. Lions at Ivor Wynne Stadium this Saturday.

Marwan Hage has moved onto the second round of voting in the Pepsi Refresh Project: CFL Challenge.  Hage is competing with three other CFL players vying for a $50,000 Pepsi Refresh Project grant to support an idea that makes positive change in their communities.  Hage plans on using the grant to construct a Hage’s Heroes play room at McMaster Children’s Hospital.

Fans can vote for Marwan by clicking here.  On November 12, the field will be narrowed to two finalists.

On Saturday, four players will welcome various community groups to Ivor Wynne Stadium for the Ticats game versus the B.C. Lions.

Peter Dyakowski will bring 600 scouts to Saturday’s game as part of his Peter’s Posse community initiative.  Dyakowski will meet with the group after the game and will make an off-season visit to every troop that attends the game.

Alexandre Gauthier and George Hudson will host several Hamilton high school teams to conclude their community program, which allowed every high school football player in Hamilton to attend a Ticats game.

When he participated in Marwan Hage’s Dinner and Celebrity Charity Poker Event on October 20, Jamall Johnson won an end zone tent to Saturday’s game.  Johnson has generously donated the tent to the Boys and Girls Club so 40 kids can enjoy the game.
