FAN APPRECIATION DAY AT IVOR WYNNE STADIUM
Hamilton, Ontario – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats will acknowledge their fans and the Canadian Forces when the Ticats host the B.C. Lions at Ivor Wynne Stadium on Saturday for Fan Appreciation and Military Appreciation Day presented by VIA Rail. Kickoff will take place at 2pm.
The first 5,000 fans that enter the stadium will receive a voucher for $1 hot dogs, popcorn, nachos and more. Fans can also win autographed jerseys and TigerTown merchandise prize packs throughout the game. 5,000 Ticats player cards will be distributed at the end of the game as fans exit Ivor Wynne.
The Ticats will pay tribute to the Canadian military at halftime and military family personnel will be on hand to accept financial donations for Operation Yellow Ribbon, which benefits the Military Family Resource Centre and the Thirteenth (XIII) Regiment Foundation.
Tommy Grant will also be honoured at halftime, as the former Ticat will have his name added to the team’s Wall of Honour on the façade of the press box. Grant played 13 years (1956-68) in Hamilton, earning four Grey Cup rings and a Schenley Most Outstanding Canadian Award in 1964. He recorded 6,491 receiving yards and 51 receiving touchdowns during his career with the Ticats and was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 1995.
The Ticats will also host a Fan Appreciation Sale on Brian Timmis Field, located just south of Ivor Wynne Stadium, featuring game-used footballs, autographed helmets and jerseys, great merchandise deals and more. Season seat holders can enter the sale at 11am while the general public can access the sale at noon.
