Q: Do you have any pre-game rituals that you follow?
Stevie: I do five hand-stand pushups on the goal posts.
Q: What is your favourite personal football memory?
Stevie: The Florida Classic is the biggest rivalry in black college football, between us (Bethune-Cookman) and Florida A&M in front of 85,000 people. The first play I was on the field, the quarterback dropped back and just before I was going to sack him the ball slipped out of his hand and it went right to me, so I caught it and ran it back for a touchdown.
Q: Who is an athlete you admired growing up?
Stevie: I had so many. I guess that Deion Sanders, Lawrence Taylor and Derek Thomas were the three that I looked up to the most.
Q: What surprised you the most when you got to the CFL?
Stevie: I would have to say the talent and the rules concerning the ratio came as the biggest surprises.
Q: If you weren’t playing football where would you be?
Stevie: Honestly I don’t know, I have a degree in International Business so maybe something to do with that. I believe that God has a plan for everyone and this was his plan for me.
Q: If you could try another position on the field what would it be?
Stevie: I’d like to try running back and get into the end zone, but they get hit almost every play… so maybe receiver.
Q: Do you have a favourite pre-game meal?
Stevie: No I don’t eat the same thing all the time, I just eat pretty much whatever’s around.
Q: Whats getting the most play in your ipod or car right now?
Stevie: A combination of gospel R&B and Hip Hop. I really like this guy Calvin Richardson, he’s a really talented R&B soul singer.
