THE MATCH-UP
Saturday’s game will be the second of three regular season meetings between the Tiger-Cats and the Alouettes in the 2010 season. The Alouettes defeated the Tiger-Cats in Montreal on July 22, 37-14, and can win the season series on Saturday. The match-up will be the 159th meeting between the two teams since 1950, with the Alouettes holding an 84-74 advantage in the all time series. Montreal has won the last five meetings and nine out of the last 10. The last time the Ticats beat the Alouettes was at Ivor Wynne Stadium in October 2008.
The Tiger-Cats are red-hot, having won their last four games, all against East Division opponents. With a win on Saturday, the Ticats will be 5-1 against the East Division this season. The Alouettes are looking to return to the win column after losing last week at home against B.C. The Alouettes have not lost two games in a row this season.
This will be the second meeting between head coaches Marcel Bellefeuille and Marc Trestman. Bellefeuille has a career record of 15-20 as a CFL head coach in the regular season and holds a 1-6 record against the Alouettes. Trestman has a career record of 32-13 as a CFL head coach in the regular season and holds a 7-1 record against the Ticats.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Kevin Glenn / QB / Hamilton
Glenn is continuing to put up great numbers at Ivor Wynne Stadium. In four regular season games at Ivor Wynne Stadium, Glenn has completed 73.6% of his passes, averaged over 344 yards per game, thrown eight touchdown passes and has a 115.9 quarterback rating. With the running game struggling and the Ticats facing a top run defence, look for Glenn to have another big game throwing the football.
Dave Stala / RB / Hamilton
Stala is proving to be one of Glenn’s most trusted targets so far this season. Stala led the team in receiving with seven catches for 90 yards and a touchdown in the Labour Day Classic. He has also been an extremely reliable option on second down for the Ticats. Look for Stala to have some very timely receptions in Saturday’s game.
Adrian McPherson / QB / Montreal
With Anthony Calvillo out, McPherson will make his first start of the season, straight off the nine-game injured list. McPherson filled in nicely for the Alouettes last season in a high-scoring game against the Ticats. McPherson completed 10 passes out of 11 attempts for 110 yards and two touchdowns, leading the Als to a 41-38 win.
Avon Cobourne / RB / Montreal
If McPherson struggles during this game, Montreal may need to rely on Cobourne to get the offence moving. Cobourne presents a dual threat for the Tiger-Cats as he can both run and catch the ball out of the backfield. Cobourne has struggled recently, rushing for only 107 yards over the last three games, but has shown he can take over games. On July 29th against the Argos, Cobourne ran for 115 and two touchdowns and also caught eight passes for 116 yards.
KEY MATCH-UP
Tiger-Cats Secondary vs. Alouettes Passing Game
The key match-up in this game is the Alouettes passing game against the Tiger-Cats secondary. Although they gave up 344 yards to Cleo Lemon last week, the Tiger-Cats secondary was able to intercept Lemon three times, including twice in the red zone. The Ticats will need more momentum from the secondary in this game as well, giving the offence opportunities to put points on the scoreboard and keep the Alouettes off of it. With McPherson in at quarterback for the Alouettes, the secondary can confuse this quarterback, who has not had a lot of game action fresh off the nine-game injured list, with various looks. If the Ticats secondary can keep the Alouettes passing attack in check, it could lead to a big win for the Black and Gold.
