Kirk Named CFL Canadian Player of the Week

KIRK NAMED CFL CANADIAN PLAYER OF THE WEEK


Hamilton, Ontario
– Hamilton Tiger-Cats defensive tackle Matt Kirk has been named CFL’s Canadian Player of the Week for his effort in the Ticats 39-28 win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers last Friday.

Kirk recorded three defensive tackles and two quarterback sacks against the Bombers to help the Ticats secure the victory.  In seven games this season, the Queen’s product has made 12 defensive tackles and two sacks. 

Ticats linebacker Markeith Knowlton was a runner-up as Defensive Player of the Week after totaling 10 defensive tackles and a sack against the Bombers.
