Getting To Know… Matt Carter

Tiger-Cats receiver Matt Carter caught three passes for 71 yards in Winnipeg last Friday after hauling in his first career touchdown the week before.  Find out a little more about Matt…

Q: Do you have any pre-game rituals that you follow?
Matt:  Zero pre-game rituals. I’m not superstitious at all.

Q: What is your favourite personal football memory?
Matt:  My first year at Acadia, we won the AUS championship.  We spanked St.FX 69 to 6… that was pretty special.

Q: Who is an athlete you admired growing up?
Matt:  Growing up, I was a pretty serious alpine ski racer so I used to look up to an Austrian skier named Hermann Maier.

Q: What surprised you the most when you got to the CFL?
Matt:  Definitely the speed of the game and how athletic all the guys are.  It’s a big jump up from Canadian University.

Q:  If you weren’t playing football where would you be?
Matt:  Firefighting, I’d be a firefighter for sure.

Q:  If you could try another position on the field what would it be?
Matt:  I’d be a shutdown corner.

Q:  Do you have a favourite pre-game meal?
Matt:  I have a Nutribar before every game.

Q:  Whats getting the most play in your ipod or car right now?
Matt:  Probably some Red Hot Chili Peppers, something by them.  They’re my go-to.
