THE MATCH-UP
Tonight’s game will be the first of three regular season meetings between the Tiger-Cats and Alouettes in the 2010 season. The Alouettes swept the season series between the two teams last year. The match-up will be the 158th meeting between the two teams since 1950. The Alouettes hold the edge in the series (83-74) and also in the last 10 meetings (9-1). The last time the Ticats defeated the Alouettes in Montreal was September 15, 2002.
Both teams will be looking to continue winning streaks in this week four game. The Alouettes have won their last two games and the Ticats are trying to win two games in a row for the first time in 2010. The Alouettes managed to win on the road without scoring a touchdown last week, as they defeated the B.C. Lions, 16-12, while the Ticats had a complete performance in defeating the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, 28-7, at Ivor Wynne Stadium.
This will be the sixth meeting between head coaches Marcel Bellefeuille and Marc Trestman. Bellefeuille has a career record of 11-18 as a CFL head coach in the regular season and holds a 1-4 record against the Alouettes. Trestman has a career record of 28-11 as a CFL head coach in the regular season and holds a 6-1 record against the Ticats.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Kevin Glenn / QB / Hamilton
The Tiger-Cats quarterback was named the CFL’s Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers last week. Glenn completed 29 of 36 passes (80.6%) for 336 yards and three touchdowns in the victory. So far this season, Glenn has completed 70% of his passes, the highest completion percentage of any quarterback in the CFL. For the Ticats to be successful in Montreal tonight, Glenn will need to continue to distribute the ball amongst his receivers. Last week, Glenn completed passes to eight different receivers.
Otis Floyd / LB / Hamilton
Floyd currently is tied for second in the league in sacks with three. Floyd was a frequent visitor to the Blue Bombers backfield last week, pressuring Buck Pierce for most of the game. Floyd will need to do the same this week to disrupt Anthony Calvillo and the Montreal offence. If Floyd can get a sack or even a few hits on Calvillo to disrupt the timing of the offence, the Tiger-Cats secondary may benefit from poorly thrown balls.
S.J. Green / WR / Montreal
Green has become Montreal’s breakout receiver this season. After only suiting up for eight games last season, Green has already made several big catches in the 2010 season for the Alouettes, including one last week against the B.C. Lions that set-up Damon Duval’s field goal that gave Montreal the lead in the fourth quarter. Other defences have focused on other Montreal receivers this season, opening the door for Green to emerge.
Jerald Brown / DB / Montreal
Brown is tied for the league lead in interceptions with two. Brown has had interceptions in back-to-back games and returned one of those interceptions for a touchdown that clinched Montreal’s victory two weeks ago in Edmonton. Brown also intercepted Lions quarterback Casey Printers late in the fourth quarter of last week’s victory. Glenn will need to avoid making a bad throw that Brown can take advantage of.
KEY MATCH-UP
Tiger-Cats Defensive Backs vs. Alouettes Receivers
The key match-up in tonight’s game will be the Ticats defensive backs against the Alouettes receivers. Along with Green, Alouettes quarterback Anthony Calvillo has a number of weapons he can go to in tonight’s game, including Jamal Richardson and veterans Ben Cahoon and Kerry Watkins. It will be important for the Tiger-Cats defensive backs to make sure they have all of these weapons covered and limit the big play. If the defensive backs can get help from the linemen up front, the defence can limit Montreal’s time of possession and points, putting the Tiger-Cats would be in a great position to win tonight’s game.
