Getting To Know… Drisan James

Ticats.ca catches up with sophomore receiver Drisan James, who will take part in his second training camp in a couple of weeks

Q: Do you have any pre-game rituals that you follow?
Drisan: Before every game I pray at the 30-yard line.

Q: What is your favourite personal football memory?
Drisan: Beating Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl (with Boise State). That was really big for our university and it really set the standard for our program.

Q: Who is an athlete you admired growing up?
Drisan: I loved Cris Carter. I personally thought he was the best all-around receiver. He mentored Randy Moss, he made all the miraculous catches and he stayed pretty humble throughout it all.

Q: What surprised you the most when you got to the CFL?
Drisan: The three downs. It seems like in the states it takes you three downs just to get a drive going but here if you don’t get some yardage right away, 9 times out of 10 you’re off the field.

Q: If you weren’t playing football where would you be?
Drisan: I’d probably be finishing my business degree or making art.

Q: If you could try another position on the field what would it be?
Drisan: I’d be a shutdown corner. It would be a wrap… I feel like I could do it right now.

Q: Whats getting the most play in your ipod or car right now?
Drisan: I don’t know, probably some R&B… Tyrese or Usher.

Q: Do you have any game day superstitions?
Drisan: No I don’t have any.  I’m not a superstitious person.
