Receiver Maurice Mann arrived in Hamilton in a trade with the Edmonton Eskimoson February 16. Ticats.ca sat down with him to get to know the fourth-year CFLer a little better…
Q: Do you have any pre-game rituals that you follow?
Maurice: Not really, I just like to get to the stadium early and get all my stuff ready.
Q: What is your favourite personal football memory?
Maurice: When I was in junior college… time was running down in the game and I caught a hail mary. It was a diving, game-winning catch.

Q: Who is an athlete you admired growing up?
Maurice: I like to watch the greats, I loved watching Michael Jordan.
Q: What surprised you the most when you got to the CFL?
Maurice: The weather. You hear about it but you can’t experience it until you get up here. Just feeling how cold it really is.
Q: If you weren’t playing football where would you be?
Maurice: I’d be a basketball player and if not basketball then I’d play baseball. I’m an athlete, I love sports.
Q: If you could try another position on the field what would it be?
Maurice: I’d love to play defensive back because I feel like I’d lock somebody up.
Q: Do you have a favourite pre-game meal?
Maurice: Pasta on game day and a good steak the night before. I learned that from Jordan.
Q: What’s getting the most play in your ipod or car right now?
Maurice: E -40 right now. Retrieving Day Shift and the Night Shift is off the chain.
Q: Do you have any game day superstitions?
Maurice: I have a lucky pair of socks. It was the first pair I bought after coming to the NFL and I’ve been wearing them ever since.
