The TigerTown Play of the Year

Dave Stala’s diving touchdown catch against the B.C. Lions in the Eastern Semi-Final was voted the TigerTown Play of the Year for 2009. To view the clip, click here.

Stala scored the first of his two touchdowns in the Eastern Semi-Final early in the third quarter. Kevin Glenn threw a ball deep to the end zone where Stala dove to caught it to tie the game at 16.

Stala’s diving touchdown catch easily cruised to the title of TigerTown Play of the Year. The play never received less than 70% of the vote in the four matches as it defeated Arland Bruce’s 27 yard leaping catch against Calgary in week fourteen, Stala’s own diving touchdown catch against Winnipeg in week three, Bruce’s 49 yard touchdown catch against Saskatchewan in week seven, and DeAndra’ Cobb’s 48 yard touchdown catch against B.C. in week two.
