Stala’s catch took place early in the second half of the Eastern Semi-Final against B.C. The Ticats trailed the Lions by a touchdown in the third quarter when Glenn placed a perfectly thrown deep ball in between two Lions defenders. Stala dove to meet it in the end zone, igniting the crowd and tying the game at 16-16.

Bruce made a positive impact on his new teammates and fans in only his third game in a Ticats uniform against Saskatchewan in week seven. While having one arm held back by a Rider defender, Bruce stretched out his other arm to tip a Kevin Glenn pass back to himself for the touchdown.

In the first semi-final, Dave Stala’s 69 yard catch and run against Montreal in week sixteen was defeated by DeAndra’ Cobb’s 48 yard touchdown catch against B.C. in week two.
