Cobb’s touchdown catch sealed the Ticats first victory of the season as he eluded several Lions players on his way to the end zone. The touchdown put the Ticats up by 10 late in the fourth quarter and they hung on for a hard-fought 31-28 victory.
Stala’s catch got the Ticats deep out of their own end and into scoring position in a back and forth game against Montreal in week sixteen. Glenn would throw for over 500 yards in the game and a large chunk came on this one play. Nick Setta would kick a field goal to end the drive, making the score 31-21 at the time.
In the last match of the second round, Dave Stala’s diving touchdown catch against B.C. in the Eastern Semi-Final was voted the better of two diving touchdown catches he had this season. While the one against B.C. advanced to the semi-final, his diving touchdown catch against Winnipeg in week three was eliminated.
