Nick’s Kicks 4 Kids Takes It To The Streets

Nick’s Kicks 4 Kids Takes It To The Streets
Run/Walk to Raise Funds for the United Way of Burlington and Greater Hamilton

The Running Room and Nick’s Kicks 4 Kids have teamed up to help the United Way of Burlington and Greater Hamilton help underprivileged children.

With every field goal over 40 yards made by Ticats kicker Nick Setta during the 2009 season, money is donated to Nick’s Kicks 4 Kids. The funds are used to provide underprivileged children in the Hamilton area with new running shoes.  Now you can help Nick help kids by walking or running with  Setta and Running Room founder John Stanton on Wednesday, October 21.

You are invited to join ‘Nick’s Kicks 4 Kids Takes It To The Streets’ on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 6:30 p.m., at the new Running Room in Stoney Creek (Unit 4005, 1791 Stone Church Rd East.)

  • Registration is $10 online at www.events.runningroom.com or at the Running Room in Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville, Guelph, Kitchener and Waterloo.
  • Souvenir medals will be presented to every finisher by Nick Setta and John Stanton.
  • 100% of the fee is donated to the United Way of Burlington and Greater Hamilton…  Additional donations can be made at the event or at www.giving.runningroom.com
  • Participation is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels.
  • Dress to run or walk 2.5 or 5 kms comfortably outdoors.
  • Food and refreshments will follow.

John Stanton’s appearance in Stoney Creek will be the first time that he has been in the Hamilton area since releasing his fifth book. Walking: A Complete Guide to Walking for Fitness, Health and Weight Loss was released last month by Penguin and has already gone to a second printing.

100% of the funds raised at the event will benefit the United Way of Burlington and Greater Hamilton.  United Way is the largest funder of social and health related services in the cities of Burlington and Hamilton. Through strong partnerships United Way finds real solutions for today’s toughest community issues. We work with other community groups to identify and research current and emerging needs. In 2008, United Way invested over $4.9 million in more than 134 programs, projects and community initiatives.
