Hamilton, Ontario – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Alumni Association are proud to announce the 2009 Wall of Honour inductee, the late Vince Scott.
Scott began his Hamilton football career in 1949 with the Flying Wildcats before playing 13 seasons with the Tiger-Cats. During his career as a guard, Scott earned All-Eastern honours ten times, appeared in six Grey Cup finals and captured two championships (1953 and 1957). He was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 1982.
His name will be placed on the facade of the press box at Ivor Wynne Stadium during a halftime ceremony at the Ticats final regular season home game against the Saskatchewan Roughriders on October 31.
The Ticats will also honour the 1999 Grey Cup championship team at halftime on October 31.
The Wall of Honour Dinner presented by 20 Bees, which includes a reunion of the 1999 team, takes place on Thursday, October 29 at the Michelangelo Banquet and Convention Centre (1555 Upper Ottawa Street). All-inclusive tickets (porchetta, dinner, bar) are now available for $85. Proceeds from the dinner benefit the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Alumni Association and their support of local grassroots football and the MS Society of Hamilton.
