Knowlton: Defensive Player Of The Week

KNOWLTON NAMED CFL’S DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Hamilton, Ontario –
Hamilton Tiger-Cats linebacker Markeith Knowlton has been named the CFL’s Defensive Player of the Week after his outstanding performance in last Saturday’s win against the Edmonton Eskimos.

Knowlton recorded 11 defensive tackles, one interception, one pass knockdown and one fumble recovery over the course of the Ticats 28-21 victory.  Through six games this season, Knowlton has registered 32 defensive tackles, forced two fumbles, recovered two fumbles and currently leads the Black and Gold with three interceptions.

This marks the second consecutive week that a Ticats defender has been named the league’s Defensive Player of the Week after linebacker Jamall Johnson was honoured in Week 5.
