Ticats Confidential: Training Camp Day 15

CFL.ca

The Ticats took part in their last  practice at McMaster’s Ron Joyce Stadium on Sunday, spending two hours on the field before preparing for Tuesday’s final pre-season game against the Argonauts at Ivor Wynne Stadium.

– Offensively, a few plays by receivers stood out.  Drisan James made a great sliding grab for a 20 yard gain, Dave Stala fully extended himself to haul in a long pass and David Ball made a couple of great catches.  The first came when he out-jumped both Bo Smith and Geoff Tisdale along the sidelines and the second occurred when he caught a long Quinton Porter pass in the back of the end zone.

– On the other side of the ball, Lawrence Gordon registered an interception while Chris Thompson picked off a pass for the second straight day.

– QB Adam Tafralis and WR Prechae Rodriguez hooked up for a touchdown when the sophomore pivot hit last year’s East Division Most Outstanding Rookie on a slant route.

– At the conclusion of Sunday’s practice, the team showed some solidarity when every player ran a lap around the field – a punishment usually reserved for those who commit penalties during practice.
