Ticats Confidential: Training Camp Day 13

On Friday, the Tiger-Cats returned to the field for the first time since Wednesday’s pre-season defeat in Winnipeg.

– Rookie DL Garrett McIntyre returned to the team on Friday after being released on the eve of training camp due to injury.  McIntyre looked 100% during D-Line drills today and will continue to fight for a spot until camp breaks next Wednesday.  The team bid adieu to seven other players on Friday morning, including sophomore Ticats Scott Mitchell and Alan Zemaitis.  Click here for the full list of released players.

– Veteran Sandy Beveridge returned to the field for his first full day of practice after suffering a calf injury early last week.  Beveridge made a nice play to record an interception during the first practices’ team drills.

– First-round draft pick Darcy Brown was busy catching balls out of the backfield during team drills today.  An impressive one-handed grab by the sixth-overall selection drew praise from his peers.

– DB Geoff Tisdale, who didn’t play in the Ticats first pre-season tilt in Winnipeg, recorded an interception early on during Friday’s action.  LB Markeith Knowlton also picked off Quinton Porter before the day ended.

– WR Drisan James made some remarkable grabs today.  The most impressive came when he somehow came down with a pass from QB Adam Tafralis that was thrown into tight coverage.

– RB Kenton Keith, S Dylan Barker and LB Yannick Carter were unable to participate in practice due to injury.

– Actor Kevin Spacey was spotted just outside Ron Joyce Stadium yesterday by Ticats video coordinator Colin Farquharson.  Spacey was in Hamilton filming a movie entitled, ‘Casino Jack.’  On Thursday, the pavilion located outside the team’s training camp facility was occupied by a dozen production trailers.  By Friday morning, the trailers – and any evidence that part of a movie had been filmed there just hours before – had vanished.
