The coaches and players showed no signs of fatigue after surviving the first day of rookie camp, as practice had a high-tempo atmosphere for the second consecutive day.
– The day began with only four quarterbacks, as recently-signed pivot Chase Clement elected to leave the team before the morning’s session kicked off. Head coach Marcel Bellefeulle said afterwards that Clement had left the team because of business interests.
– The four quarterbacks who did participate threw strong, accurate passes throughout team drills. A long Quinton Porter-to-Jacob Willis connection was particularly impressive.
– The Jugs machine was fired up once again for rookies to simulate fielding punts. Receiver Airese Currie was the lone practicing returner this morning.
– Following a strong performance throughout Day 1, receiver David Ball shone once again on Friday. The 6-1, 180-pound receiver made a series of difficult grabs. Airese Currie flashed some speed during one-on-ones as he blew by a couple of defenders en route to long receptions.
– Adam Tafralis spent another practice throwing dart-like passes to receivers all over the field. Last year, Tafralis saw action in three games, completing 20-of-39 passes for 268 yards and three touchdowns.
– After a group of players were punished for taking penalties by running a lap around the field, Marcel Bellefeuille jokingly confronted offensive lineman Simeon Rottier. “Do you have a guilty conscience, Rottier?,” Bellefeuille asked before adding, “…because I didn’t call your name.”
