Ticats Team Up With Primus For Free Summer Long Distance Service

Toronto, Canada – With the Hamilton area, like many communities, experiencing the effects of the slumping economy, Primus Telecommunications Canada (www.primus.ca), a long-time supporter of the area, will begin offering free unlimited long distance service within Canada for the summer to residential customers residing in Hamilton and the surrounding areas, including Ancaster, Burlington, Dundas, Grimbsy, Flamborough, Waterdown and Stoney Creek.

The offer is available to consumers who switch to Primus between May 19 and July 1, 2009.  New customers can take advantage of this offer by calling 1 800 514-FREE (3733) or visiting www.primus.ca/hamilton. New customers will be entitled to three months of free long distance service.

“While many parts of the country are struggling through these challenging economic times, Hamilton has seen significant job losses and associated hardship,” said Rob Warden, Vice President Residential Marketing for Primus Canada.  “As a long-time supporter of the community, having become the presenting sponsor of the Tiger-Cats in 2005, we are pleased to be able to play a small role in helping the area to deal with the downturn and get back on its feet.”

In addition, current Primus customers in Hamilton and surrounding areas can select any additional new Primus service and receive it free for three months.

Primus is also planning other special offers for Hamilton Tiger-Cats fans, including a free pair of tickets to the Primus Canada Day Tiger-Cats home opener for those who sign up to Primus Home Phone Service at www.ticats.ca in advance of tickets going on sale to the general public.

“We’re thrilled that our wonderful partner, Primus, is reaching out to the residents of TigerTown with this unique and generous initiative,” said Ticats President Scott Mitchell.  “The Ticats encourage all of their fans to take advantage of this offer and join us at Ivor Wynne Stadium for the Canada Day home opener on July 1.”
