Hamilton, Ontario – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats will honour one of the greatest to ever wear the Black and Gold, as they celebrate Angelo Mosca Day, October 4 at Ivor Wynne Stadium, when the Ticats play host to the Montreal Alouettes.
Best remembered for his days in Black and Gold, Mosca, who played for both Hamilton and Montreal during his storied career, will be in the Pepsi pre-game area prior to kickoff between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. for an autograph session with fans. At halftime, all eyes will be on the ArcelorMittal Dofasco TigerVision for a tribute video to the hardnosed defensive tackle, followed by Mosca addressing the crowd from field level.
Mosca, who was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 1987 and placed on the Ticats Wall of Honour in 1998, played 15 seasons in the CFL, 12 of which (1958-59, 1964-72) were with the Ticats. He played in an astonishing nine Grey Cup games, emerging victorious five times. He was selected as a CFL All-Star in 1963 and 1970 and was an Eastern All-Star defensive tackle five times.
