MFTM: Ron Hicks

By: Ron Hicks

My Favourite TigerTown Moment came this year during the pre-season.

I picked up two tickets to the Ticats away game in Toronto and my seats were right beside the Argos locker room. While the seats themselves were great, sitting with all those Argo fans was so much fun.

It was fantastic. Every time the Ticats scored a touchdown, my son and I would get up and celebrate and egg on all the Argos supporters.

It was late in the fourth quarter, and the Cats got a nice two and out, followed by a great return from Tre Smith to put them in position to score a late touchdown to win the game.

Quinton Porter received the snap, scanned the field and saw nothing open, so he just took off running with the ball. My son and I got up as soon as he started to run and we knew that he was going to score. As soon as he jumped into that end zone we went nuts, cheering as loud as we could.

Then when the Argos got the ball back with time to drive the field, I got really tense. When I saw the pressure from our D-Line on Michael Bishop, forcing him to throw that ball up, I just had a feeling that something great was going to happen. Then out of nowhere Sandy Beveridge came up with the interception for the Tiger-Cats to seal the victory.

We were so thrilled. My soon took off running up the stairs yelling out Oskee Wee Wee!
