What’s In A Number: Chang/ Reid/ Beveridge

#7

Timmy Chang

Quarterback

“Lucky number seven. It’s a great number. My number in college was 14 and I love the number 14, but some guy named Danny McManus wore it apparently (Laughs). I heard he was awesome, but I never had the guts to ask him for the number. My number seven is out of respect for Danny and what he’s done for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, so I gladly took seven.”

#99

Jermaine Reid

Defensive Line

“In Canada some people might think 99 is sacred in any sport because of Wayne Gretzky, but I wore it in college. It’s one of those things were I had the choice between two numbers. I wanted 75, which was the number I wore in high school, but another guy coming in at the same time asked for it first. I also liked 99, and players like Warren Sapp, they’ve worn it. It was a nice looking number and I figured I could get used to that. I wore it all throughout college and everybody seemed to know me in college with it and I was just fortunate enough to get it when I came up here.”

#19

Sandy Beveridge

Safety

“I was 19 in university and I really liked the number, then I came out here in training camp the number wasn’t available. I was given the number 37, and was never really a big fan of it. I tried to make the most of it for a year or two, then 19 became available and I jumped on it. It’s been a number that’s been good to me.”
