Welcome To The New Ticats.ca

With the start of the 2008 season, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats are looking like a new team on the field and on your computer screen with the launch of the all-new Ticats.ca.

The new site offers fans a chance to become a part of the experience by sharing their photos, which will be displayed right on the front page. After an overwhelming number of submissions collected for the My Favourite TigerTown Moment contest, fans stories will be posted weekly leading to the final weeks of the season where the top stories will be placed in an open vote on the site, with the winner making their way to the videoboard in the last game of the season.

Fans visiting the site will now be able to share their comments on the same page as the exclusive content and get involved in a discussion with fellow Ticats.ca users. This season will see a new variety of blogs from players and coaches, as well as favourites from last year like Life of Lancaster and Sideline-2-Sideline written by CFL legend Ron Lancaster and Staff Writer Justin Boone, respectively.

Ticats TV takes on a new look in 2008, with a drop-down video player on the main page and a built-in video player in the multi-media section. Ticats TV host Candace Devai will continue to be the face of the fastest growing area of Ticats.ca.

Some of the other new items fans should note include:

  • Player pages now have full-page action shots along with their headshots, and a more friendly navigation to scroll between all the members of the Black and Gold.
  • The Gameday Page will bring together all the teams previews and recaps, as well as highlight the stats you’ll need to know before kickoff at Ivor Wynne Stadium.
  • An improved Newsroom will allow fans to search through the most up-to-dat stories surrounding the team.

Some of the items to look for in the future include:

  • An increasing database of Ticats videos, photos, and audio files.
  • Continued enhancement to the Ticats Cheerleaders page.
