After a year-long absence, the Hamilton Spectator. reports that Pigskin Pete returns to Ivor Wynne Stadium tonight.
Die-hard Cats fan Dan Black will assume the role previously held by Paul Weiler.
“It’s huge shoes to fill,” said Black, who was announced as the new Pigskin Pete at the club’s State of the Franchise event May 5. “I said it at the dinner and I’ll say it again here, I can replace Pigskin Pete, I can never replace Paul Weiler. Not only what he did as Pigskin Pete, but what he did in the community.”
“My thing is to see kids, put a smile on their face, make them laugh by being a little bit crazy. Just like Paul would back in his day.”
