Hamilton, Ontario – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today the signing of import defensive backs Rontarius Robinson, Alan Zemaitis and Geoff Tisdale.
Robinson, a 5-11, 185-pound native of Tallahassee, Florida spent the last three seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The 26-year-old started 22 of 33 regular season games he appeared in, recording 63 defensive tackles, 20 special teams tackles, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, six pass knockdowns and five interceptions.
Zemaitis, a 6-2, 202-pound native of Rochester, New York was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the fourth round (122nd overall) of the 2006 NFL Draft after a four-year collegiate career at Penn State. During his four seasons with the Nittany Lions, the 25-year-old recorded 181 tackles (130 solo), 12 interceptions, 34 pass knockdowns, 5.5 tackles for losses, two fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles in 43 games, earning three consecutive All-Big Ten selections.
Tisdale, a 6-1, 185-pound native of Pacoima, California started 11 games for Pittsburg State last season, making 29 tackles (22 solo), two interceptions, 1.5 tackles for losses and one fumble recovery.
The Ticats also announced the team has released import wide receivers Jason Armstead, Montiese Culton and Adrian Madise, as well as non-import kicker Ara Tchobanian.
