Kent Austin Named CFL Coach Of The Year

Kent Austin is the recipient of the Annis Stukus Trophy as the 2007 Coach of the Year, the Canadian Football League announced today.

This past season Austin led the Roughriders to their first home playoff game since 1988, finishing the regular season with a 12-6 record, the second best record in the CFL. Under Austin’s leadership, two Roughriders were honoured as 2007 CFL All-Stars and quarterback Kerry Joseph was named the League’s Outstanding Player, the first time a Roughrider claimed the top player award since 1976 (Ron Lancaster).
