Hamilton, Ontario – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that the team has re-signed non-import safety Sandy Beveridge.
“We’re excited to re-sign Sandy as he’s a talented, experienced player who is great on special teams and will have the opportunity to compete for a job as our starting safety. As one of the longest serving Ticats, Sandy has been a great presence in the locker room as well as in the community,” said general manager Bob O’Billovich.
Beveridge, a 6-2, 214-pound native of Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, has played five seasons in Black and Gold after signing with the Ticats as a free agent on May 14, 2003. Beveridge suited up in 18 games last season, recording 17 defensive tackles, 14 special teams tackles, two fumble recoveries, one forced fumble and two pass knockdowns. The 26-year-old has recorded 65 defensive tackles, 59 special teams tackles and three interceptions in 69 career CFL games.
