Q: How’s your off-season going, what have you been up to?
“Traveling. I was up here for Grey Cup week then went to Tampa Bay, then Atlanta, Georgia. Just visiting both family and friends, and spending time at my place down in Charlotte.”
Q: Do you work in Charlotte?
“I work in the office of an auto collision centre. I make visits to insurance companies and stuff like that, courtesy visits to keep relationships good between the two.”
Q: What’s your place like down there?
“I used to live with Anthony Davis, who just recently got traded to Toronto. I lived with him in the off-season last year, but I’m getting my own place this year.”
Q: You two were obviously close, what was it like when you found out he was traded and to your rival?
“I was kind of upset, but it might be a better fit for him, with us having Jesse and Terry Caulley here, we had a lot of talent at running back, so you can’t really be mad at the move. That’s the business end of things. That’s the way it goes sometimes.”
Q: Should we assume you’ll be making a few more trips to Toronto this year?
“Oh yeah. They plans already in the making (laughs).”
Q: What’s something you get to do during your months off that you just don’t have time for during the season?
“I love riding my four-wheeler. I live in the country so it’s great to get out there on it. They’re illegal to ride on the streets so it’s not like I can use it to get around. We keep it to the country, recreation.”
Q: How do you approach the off-season, do you relax for a while and let your body rest, or are you working out a lot?
“I haven’t worked out yet. I like to let my body rest after the season, heal up all the little injuries you get over an 18-game schedule, and I’ll get back in the gym in February. You need that break. “
Q: There are a lot of changes again this year with the team as far as coaching staff, do you think about that at all in the off-season, or is that something you wait and approach at training camp?
“You don’t worry about that until the season hits and training camp is here. I’ll read through my playbook and make sure I have that stuff all down, but you can’t really let it affect your off-season regiment.”
Q: Did you have a chance to watch any bowl games? You have a favourite that you saw this year?
“I watched a few. The bowls weren’t the same this year; they were kind of weak actually for college bowl games. West Virginia winning the Fiesta was a good game. I knew they were going to win, I like West Virginia.”
Q: Anything you miss about the college game now that you’re a pro?
“I miss the college atmosphere. The crowd, the band, everything about it. College gameday is just something all together different. The campus life isn’t bad at all.”
