Hamilton, Ontario – The Canadian Football League announced today that Hamilton Tiger-Cats kicker/punter Nick Setta has been named the East Division’s nominee for Most Outstanding Rookie.
Through 17 games, Setta leads the CFL in field goal percentage (85.1%) after connecting on 41 of 48 field goal attempts. His 52-yard field goal on July 27 is tied for the longest successful attempt this season.
Setta has punted 123 times for 5,401 yards (43.9 avg) and 4,929 net yards (40.1 avg). In week 17 in Saskatchewan, the Notre Dame product kicked a team-record 97-yard punt at Mosaic Stadium.
The 2007 CFL Player Awards will be announced during Grey Cup week on Thursday, November 22.
