Zuger To Be Added To Wall Of Honour

Hamilton, Ontario – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Alumni Association are proud to present the 2007 Wall of Honour inductee, former player and general manager Joe Zuger. His name will be placed on the facade of the press box at Ivor Wynne Stadium during a ceremony at halftime of the Ticats final regular season home game against the Edmonton Eskimos on Saturday, November 3.

Past inductees include Angelo Mosca, Tommy Joe Coffey, Bernie Faloney, Garney Henley, John Barrow, Rocky DiPietro, Ellison Kelly, Ben Zambiasi, Ralph Sazio, Jake Gaudaur, Grover Covington, Earl Winfield and Bill Danychuk.

Zuger played 10 seasons with the Ticats from 1962 to 1971, completing 814 of 1,618 pass attempts for 12,676 yards and 76 touchdowns while maintaining a 45.5-yard punting average. The Arizona State product appeared in four Grey Cup games, earning the 1967 Grey Cup Most Valuable Player in the Cats victory.

Zuger followed up his exceptional playing career by joining the Ticats front office as a player personnel executive and general manager.

The Ticats will also honour the 1957 and 1967 Grey Cup winning teams with a special tribute at halftime.

As part of the gala celebration, a dinner will be held on Thursday, November 1 at Michelangelo Banquet Hall (1555 Upper Ottawa Street). Tickets are available at a cost of $80.00, which includes an extravagant meal, beverages and a silent auction. They can be purchased at the Ticats business office (1 Jarvis Street), United Trophy Manufacturing (99 Cannon Street East), R & R Trophies (4155 Fairview Street, Burlington) and the Michelangelo Banquet Centre.

Funds raised through this event will go to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Alumni Association and the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Hamilton.
