Hamilton, Ontario – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that running back Jesse Lumsden will be placed on the nine game injured list and will miss the remainder of the 2007 CFL season.
“Jesse was having an all-star calibre season and everyone was given a glimpse of what he’s capable of,” said general manager Marcel Desjardins. “He has shown that he is going to be a major force in this league and will be a key part of our team’s future.”
In ten games this season, Lumsden recorded 98 carries for 743 rushing yards with three touchdowns and leads all CFL running backs averaging 7.6 yards per carry. Lumsden has also proved himself to be a sure-handed receiver hauling in 26 catches for 348 receiving yards and one touchdown and currently sits fifth in the CFL in yards from scrimmage with 1,091 total yards.
