Hamilton, Ontario – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats would like to congratulate defensive end Charlton Keith for being named the Canadian Football League’s Defensive Player of the Week.
In only his second game with the Black and Gold, Keith produced two tackles, two sacks, two recovered fumbles, and was a consistent presence in the Stampeders backfield, disrupting their offensive scheme. Keith’s second fumble recovery led to the game winning 10-play, 99-yard touchdown drive.
The Ticats hope the former University of Kansas Jayhawk can shore up the other defensive end position, opposite the team’s leading pass rusher Nautyn McKay Loescher.
Keith was not the only Ticat recognized for his efforts in Week 13. Kicker/Punter Nick Setta and quarterback Richie Williams were named runners-up for Special Teams Player of the Week and Offensive Player of the Week, respectively.
Keith, Setta, Williams and the rest of the Ticats travel to Winnipeg to take on the Blue Bombers this Saturday at 7:00 p.m. ET.
