Week 13: Player Rankings

For each week of the CFL season rankings are calculated by taking into account each player’s opposition, season-to-date performance, injury status and other statistical factors.

Players ranked the highest in each category have the most potential to score points in FSN’s Pick 10 Challenge.

Here are the Week 13 rankings:

Quarterbacks

1. Henry Burris – 14 TDs in last four games.
2. Michael Bishop – Will rebound after horrible Week 12.
3. Kevin Glenn – Knee is okay, faces vaunted Argos pass D.
4. Ricky Ray – Don’t expect another five TDs.
5. Kerry Joseph – Been yanked from last two starts.
6. Casey Printers – Can’t be much worse than in debut.
7. Jarious Jackson – No TDs in 40-7 romp.
8. Marcus Brady – 8-19, 142 yds, TD, 2 INT last week.

Running Backs

1. Jarrett Payton – Only 56 yards last week, but two scores.

10. Paris Jackson – 222 yards over last three games, zero TDs.

*- player’s ranking affected by injury status

Injury Notes:

Edmonton – Running back Tyler Ebell is expected to play Sunday at Montreal, but missed practice earlier in the week due to his nagging shoulder problem.

Montreal – Anthony Calvillo (rotator cuff) has not yet been ruled out for Sunday’s game, although odds are he’s a week or two from regaining the starting job. Slot back Ben Cahoon (chest) is questionable. He doesn’t miss many games, so after sitting out last week, I don’t think he’ll be able to stomach doing it again. Receiver Eric Deslauriers is expected to play a more prominent role after turning in his best performance of the year in Edmonton.

Winnipeg – Quarterback Kevin Glenn (knee) practised with the first-team offence on Wednesday and proclaimed himself completely fit for Sunday’s game. Milt Stegall (deep shoulder bruise) was kept off the field Wednesday, leaving his status in doubt. Stegall hasn’t been ruled out, but the shoulder has been bothering for a couple weeks. He looks closer to doubtful than questionable.

Hamilton – Running back Jesse Lumsden (collarbone) is expected to return to the line-up tonight against Calgary after missing the last three games. Receiver Jason Armstead (ribs) is ready to play as well.

Toronto – Arland Bruce and Tony Miles are expected to play Sunday. Their returns would be welcomed by Michael Bishop, who crashed and burned last week without them.

B.C. Lions – Jarious Jackson will start in Week 13. Buck Pierce (shoulder) practiced with the second team this week and is getting healthier, but is not ready yet. Joe Smith injured a hand in practice Wednesday but will play Saturday. Linebacker Javy Glatt (ankle) is likely to play due to the importance of game even though he’s still experiencing pain.
