Ticats Add Four

Hamilton, Ontario – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that import quarterback Brett Elliott, import defensive end Charlton Keith, import linebacker David Lofton and non-import linebacker Steve Faoro have been added to the team’s development roster.

Elliott, a 6-3, 203 native of Lake Oswego, Oregon played two seasons at Linfield College where he set 31 school records. The 25-year-old pivot completed 567 of 833 pass attempts for 8,614 yards and 110 touchdowns in against 20 interceptions in 24 games with the Wildcats. Elliott spent part of 2006 on the San Diego Chargers practice roster and attended camp with the Chargers last month.

Keith, a 6-5, 240-pound native of Akron, Ohio was a first-team all Big-12 selection with Kansas in 2005 after recording 61 tackles, nine quarterback sacks and school-record 23 tackles for losses. The 24-year-old spent most of the 2006 season on the Cleveland Brown’s practice roster and had a brief stint with the Oakland Raiders earlier this year.

Lofton a 6-4, 220-pound native of Plano, Texas played five years at Stanford where he was converted from a quarterback/wide receiver to safety before his junior season. He finished his career with 82 tackles (49 solo), one quarterback and one fumble recovery in 27 games played (11 starts). David is the son of former NFL great James Lofton, a Professional Football Hall of Famer and currently a wide receivers coach with the San Diego Chargers.

Faoro, a 5-11, 233-pound native of Port Moody, B.C. was named the AUS Defensive Most Valuable Player and Acadia Defensive MVP in 2005. In 32 games with Acadia, Faoro recorded 148 tackles (141 solo), three interceptions and 2.5 quarterback sacks.
