Hamilton, Ontario – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are excited to announce an event to honour a Ticats legend, the Danny McManus Tribute Dinner.
The dinner will take place on Tuesday, September 18 at Marquis Gardens Centre in Ancaster. The festivities begin with a cocktail reception at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m.
The evening will feature a tribute (and a bit of roasting) to Danny McManus, one of the greatest quarterbacks to play in Canadian Football League, by an array of CFL celebrities including his former coach, Ron Lancaster.
Tickets to the dinner are available now by calling 905-547-CATS (2287). Individual tickets cost $150 while a table of 10 can be reserved for $1500. Proceeds from the event will benefit two of McManus’ favourite local charities, McMaster Children’s Hospital and the Feed the Children Foundation.
After joining the team in 1998, McManus played eight seasons with the Ticats, breaking several team passing records including career passing yards (33,841), career touchdown passes (164), career pass completions (2,368) and single season passing yards (5,334). In 141 career games with Hamilton he completed 2,368 of 4,257 pass attempts for 33,841 yards and 164 touchdowns. In 1999, he enjoyed his finest season in Black and Gold, earning the CFL Most Outstanding Player award, was named both a CFL and East Division All-Star and ultimately won the Grey Cup.
