Hamilton, Ontario – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that the team has added import defensive back Tony Tiller and import wide receiver Kendrink Starling to its development roster.
Tiller joins the Ticats with two seasons of CFL experience under his belt. The 5-11, 180-pound native of Atlanta, Georgia began his CFL career with the B.C. Lions in 2005, recording 39 defensive tackles, five special teams tackles, one quarterback sack and four interceptions in 18 games. Tiller signed with the Calgary Stampeders in 2006 and made 27 defensive tackles, three special teams tackles and four interceptions in 13 games. Before turning pro, he spent three seasons at East Tennessee where he played 29 games, recording 114 tackles and 12 interceptions.
Starling, a 6-0, 210-pound native of Marshall, Texas has previous pro experience with the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks, New Orleans Saints and Houston Texans as well as NFL Europe’s Rhein Fire. The 27 year-old played two seasons at San Jose State where he recorded 77 receptions for 899 yards and five touchdowns in 23 games while adding 856 yards on 36 kickoff returns and 48 yards on 10 carries, including one touchdown. Starling attended training camp with the Edmonton Eskimos earlier this year.
The Ticats also announced they have released import defensive end George Gause.
