Hamilton, Ontario – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are proud to team up with Special Olympics Ontario to present “Building Dreams Soccer Weekend” this weekend at McMaster University’s Alumni Field.
“There isn’t a more rewarding partnership than joining together with the Special Olympics,” said Executive Vice President of Club Operations Adam Provost. “The event this weekend will truly showcase these amazing athletes. We’re very excited to sponsor the first Building Dreams Soccer Weekend.”
The tournament featuring athletes from across the province will take place on Saturday, August 4 from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, August 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. On Saturday evening, each athlete will be presented with a commemorative medal by Tiger-Cats players to recognize their participation in the event. Ticats players, cheerleaders and mascots will make appearances at the tournament throughout the weekend.
Prior to the tournament, the Special Olympic athletes will take part in a parade around the field at Ivor Wynne Stadium before the Ticats kick-off against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Friday, August 3.
